Hybrid Systems & Network Engineer — Tier 3 (Senior Project Engineer)
Position Overview
The Tier 3 Systems & Network Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for executing complex infrastructure and networking projects across client environments. This role partners closely with Project Management to ensure successful delivery of technical solutions that meet scope, timeline, and quality standards.
This engineer serves as a technical authority during project planning and execution, and may act as a project lead when overseeing other engineers or managing technical workstreams. The role requires strong technical depth, disciplined documentation practices, and excellent client communication.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Project Execution

Implement technical project deliverables including system configuration, deployments, migrations, and integrations.

Execute infrastructure changes across servers, networking, cloud platforms, and security systems.

Ensure all implementations align with project scope, architecture standards, and best practices.
Project Lifecycle Participation

Contribute technical expertise during project initiation to define scope, feasibility, and technical requirements.

Assist in building technical plans including task breakdowns, timelines, and resource planning.

Execute technical work throughout the project delivery phase, ensuring performance and stability.

Support project closure through validation, documentation, and operational handoff.
Technical Leadership

Serve as technical lead on assigned projects when required.

Provide guidance and oversight to junior engineers and project team members.

Monitor technical performance and proactively address risks or blockers.
Documentation & System Records

Maintain accurate and detailed technical documentation within Autotask.

Log time entries, project notes, and task completion records.
-
Update, standardize, and archive outdated documentation as needed.

Ensure knowledge transfer materials are completed for service delivery teams.
Quality Assurance & Standards

Validate that all technical deliverables meet organizational standards and client expectations.

Apply structured quality assurance methods to implementations.

Follow established technical, security, and operational frameworks.
Client Communication & Coordination

Communicate project schedules, technical requirements, and site visit details with clients.

Provide clear updates on project progress and technical outcomes.

Ensure client readiness for implementation activities.
Time & Workload Management

Manage technical tasks efficiently to meet project timelines.

Accurately track progress and utilization.

Balance multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Required Qualifications

Minimum 2+ years experience as a Systems or Network Engineer with project execution responsibilities.

Demonstrated experience leading or managing technical project work.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience applying quality assurance standards to technical deliverables.

Proven history of producing detailed and structured technical documentation.

Working knowledge of Autotask or comparable PSA platform.

Strong organizational and time management skills.
