Position Overview

The vCIO acts as a trusted advisor to our clients, building long-term relationships by delivering value through strategic planning, IT budgeting, risk management, and technology roadmapping. This role bridges the gap between technology and business, ensuring that our clients IT environment is not only functional but a driver of growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary strategic IT consultant and advisor to assigned clients.

  • Conduct regular Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), ensuring alignment with client business goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps and multi-year IT plans.

  • Assist in IT budgeting and forecasting; provide cost-benefit analyses and ROI models for technology initiatives.

  • Analyze and assess client IT environments for risks, inefficiencies, and areas of improvement.

  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure delivery aligns with the clients strategic vision.

  • Guide clients through lifecycle planning of hardware, software, cloud services, and licensing.

  • Recommend cybersecurity best practices and help clients meet compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, NIST, CMMC, etc.).

  • Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities and work with the sales team to present solutions.

  • Maintain documentation of client environments and strategic initiatives in PSA/CRM systems.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in IT consulting, technical account management, or IT leadership roles (preferably in the MSP space).

  • Strong understanding of SMB IT operations, networking, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-oriented strategies.

  • Proven track record of client relationship management and strategic planning.

  • Experience with MSP tools such as ConnectWise, Kaseya, N-able, Autotask, or similar.

  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as HIPAA, NIST, SOC 2, and CMMC is a plus.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
