Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO)

The Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) serves as the strategic backbone of client relationships, guiding businesses toward technology solutions that drive growth and stability. Rooted in understanding each clients unique needs, the vCIO blends technical expertise with business acumen to deliver tailored recommendations. This role leads upper-tier clients those with significant revenue or complex compliance requirements through strategic planning, leveraging tools like MyITProcess to align technology with business goals.

Responsibilities

Strategic Client Engagement (50%)

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with upper-tier clients, acting as their primary strategic advisor to align technology with business objectives.

Technology Alignment and Planning (25%)

  • Develop and implement comprehensive technology plans using MyITProcess, ensuring alignment with client goals and industry best practices.

  • Guide clients through compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI) while recommending solutions to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory adherence.

Team Collaboration and Growth Initiatives (15%)

  • Partner with internal teams to deliver cohesive client support and share insights to refine processes and enhance service delivery.

  • Identify opportunities to expand services based on client needs and engagement insights.

Professional Services Support (10%)

  • Provide high-level technical guidance on complex projects (e.g., VLAN configurations, router setups, virtualization), coordinating with technical teams for execution.

  • Lead onboarding for high-value clients, ensuring smooth transitions and exceptional client experience.

Additional Duties

  • Maintain detailed records of client plans, alignment activities, and compliance status.

  • Log 100% of work hours in PSA software to support operational efficiency.

  • Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and TruMethods best practices.

  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and support other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years in IT leadership roles, including vCIO or professional services experience.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute technology roadmaps that align with business goals, ideally using frameworks like TruMethods or MyITProcess.

  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI) and risk management strategies.

  • Advanced technical knowledge in networking (VLANs, routing, firewalls), virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware), and cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure).

  • Experience with PSA, RMM, and ticketing systems.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with clients.

  • Reliable transportation for occasional on-site visits.

  • Successful completion of a background check prior to employment.
